Feature: AI routing

AI routing of faults to the right contractor

AI analyses every reported fault and, based on its type, location and your industry, automatically sends the request to the right external subcontractor — no manual triage. Instead of someone deciding who to call for each breakdown, FixPoint reads the report, picks the contractor and dispatches the work order in seconds. You keep full control over who covers which work.

Automatic triage

The AI reads each fault report and matches it to a contractor by type, location and industry — no dispatcher needed.

You define contractors

Add your own external subcontractors and set who covers which fault types and locations. Routing follows your rules.

Acceptance recorded

FixPoint sends the request by email and records whether the contractor accepted — so nothing goes silent.

In every plan

AI routing is standard in Basic, Advanced and Enterprise. No add-on to buy.

Quick answer

How does the AI know who to send a fault to?

By the fault type, its location and your industry. The AI reads the report and matches it to the contractor you assigned for that kind of work.

Can I define my own contractors?

Yes. You add your own subcontractors and set which fault types and locations each one covers. The AI routes within your rules.

What if there is no response?

FixPoint starts escalation — SMS, then an AI phone call to the contractor, and finally a notification to the manager who ordered the repair.

Is it in all plans?

Yes. AI routing is included in Basic, Advanced and Enterprise at no extra cost.

Who are the subcontractors?

External companies and contractors you already work with — plumbers, electricians, HVAC firms, IT support and more. FixPoint routes to them; it does not supply them.

How it works

From a single fault report to a dispatched work order in four automatic steps.

AI analyses the fault

From the description the AI infers the fault type, urgency and location — even when the report comes in as a phone call transcribed by the AI phone assistant or as free text via the portal.

Selects a contractor

Based on your industry, the site location and the fault type, it picks the right subcontractor from the list you defined. A leak goes to your plumber; a power fault goes to your electrician.

Sends the request

The chosen subcontractor receives the request by email with the fault details. FixPoint records whether they accepted it or not, so the status is always visible.

Hands off to escalation

If there is no response, it triggers escalation — SMS, then an AI phone call to the contractor, then a notification to the manager. The fault never stalls in silence.

What it solves

Problem

Every reported fault waits for a person to read it, decide who handles it and phone or email the right contractor. That triage is slow, easy to forget and hard to track across multiple sites.

Solution

AI routing reads the fault the moment it lands and dispatches it to the correct subcontractor by type, location and industry — automatically, and against the rules you set.

Result

Faults reach the right hands in seconds instead of hours. No missed reports, no guesswork about who to call, and a recorded trail of who accepted each job.

What's included

Included in all plans

AI routing comes standard with Basic, Advanced and Enterprise — there is no separate add-on. Higher plans add phone fault reporting, AI phone calls and contractor statistics on top. See the full breakdown on our pricing page.

Who it's for

AI routing pays off most for teams that juggle many sites and several external contractors, where deciding who to call for each fault is a daily bottleneck. If you run multiple locations and rely on outside partners for repairs, routing removes the manual dispatch step entirely.

FAQ

How does the AI know which contractor to send a fault to?

The AI reads the fault description and matches it to a subcontractor by three signals: the fault type (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, IT and so on), the location or site, and your industry. It then picks the contractor you have assigned to that kind of work.

Can I define my own contractors and routing rules?

Yes. You add your own external subcontractors, set which fault types and locations each one covers, and the AI routes to them. You stay in control of who gets which work order.

What happens if a contractor does not respond?

FixPoint records whether the contractor accepted the request. If there is no response, it starts automatic escalation: SMS, then an AI phone call to the contractor, and finally a notification to the manager who ordered the repair.

Is AI routing included in every plan?

Yes. AI routing is included in all plans — Basic, Advanced and Enterprise. There is no add-on to buy for it. See the pricing page for what each plan adds on top.

Who are the subcontractors that receive the work orders?

They are your external companies and contractors — the plumbers, electricians, HVAC firms, IT support and other partners you already work with. FixPoint routes faults to them; it does not supply the contractors. Learn how the whole flow starts on the fault reporting software page.
